Callaway FT Irons - About

Callaway FT Irons - About: The next level of iron innovation is here. Introducing the new FT-Irons from Callaway Golf. The most technologically advanced irons we offer, packed into a traditionally-styled club head. Designed to appeal to accomplished players, the thinner topline, higher toe and slightly less offset produce a more traditional look. The high-density proprietary alloy lets Callaway Golf engineers move an astounding 80% of the clubheads weight to the extreme perimeter creating a higher moment of inertia for outstanding stability and forgiveness. The titanium face produces fast ball speeds and allows more weight to be moved to the perimeter for better forgiveness and an increased effective hitting area. A cavity back insert composed of a chemically-engineered thermoplastic urethane decreases vibration, creating an incredibly solid feel. And finally, the polycarbonate tip-plug at the end of the shaft is an advanced version of the original true-bore design, dampening vibration for enhanced feel and performance. Multi-material technology for superior distance, feel and performance. The new FT-Irons. Callaway Golf, a better game by design.

Callaway FT Irons - Ed Ibarguen

Callaway FT Irons - Ed Ibarguen: Hi, my name is Ed Ibarguen. I'm from Duke University Golf Club and I wanna talk to you golfers out there that are always looking for that little edge, that little advantage to be able to win your game, to compete in a tournament. You know, what I'm seeing this year from the FT-Irons from Callaway with their fusion technology. First thing I look at is how do they look. Wow, this clubs got a thinner topline which is what we see in the more traditional clubs, but here's what separates it. The weight distribution, the technology behind this club. What I'm getting with this club is it not only looks great, it plays great. You know you're out there, you're playing in a tournament, you're a little bit nervous, maybe your swing's not exactly on, you miss it a little bit on the toe and maybe those forced irons that you're playing with now. That ball drops in a bunker, you end up taking a bogey, sometimes even a double bogey. Avoid those this year with the FT-Irons.

Callaway FT Irons - Jeff Colton

Callaway FT Irons - Jeff Colton: One of our new irons this year is the FT-Iron and it utilizes fusion technology, or the blending of three different materials. The first is tonnite, which we invented, which is denser than stainless steel, and this entire cradle and hosel is made out of that dense material moving weight out to the perimeter of the iron, increasing the forgiveness. It also has a very lightweight titanium faceplate. Again, titanium is very light so we're able to take that weight out of the face and put it into the perimeter. And then it has a TPU sensor. The thermoplastic urethane piece that actually is bonded up against the back of the face and that dampens vibration and gives the iron a great feel. One of the other things we've done with this here, with this iron is slim the topline even more, so its got a very traditional player-like appearance, at a dress, but a ton of forgiveness that Callaway irons are known for.
